As we always do, the Society celebrated Engineers Week by participating in DiscoverE's Future City competition. This year was a special one, with "Farm to Table" as the theme of the event. ASABE President Sherry Hunt traveled to Washington, DC, to serve as a judge in the high school competition and to present our special award, for Most Sustainable Food Production System, at the middle school competition.
Did the teams do their homework? Yes, indeed. Our judges heard about the circular economy, 3D printed food, "bee bots," agrivoltaics, hyperspectral imaging, vertical farms, and even the expressed need for agricultural engineers. The cherry on top: We spied an ASABE logo on one of the teams' visual aids. True, it was our old logo, but we'd still call that a win for the profession.
Thanks to Sherry and also to our special award judges, ASABE Executive Director Cedric Calhoun, Society Treasurer Gary Seibel, and guest judge Jiang Wu for their time and ambassadorship on behalf of the profession.

Fellows Nominations Open until April 15
“A Fellow shall be an engineer of unusual professional distinction, with outstanding and extraordinary qualifications and experience in, or related to, the field of agricultural, food or biological engineering.”
Do you know of someone worthy of this prestigious honor? If so, and if the individual has been a member of ASABE for at least 20 years and has actively practiced in, or related to the profession of engineering, the teaching of engineering, or the teaching of an engineering related curriculum for at least 20 years, consider nominating for Fellow of ASABE for 2027.
Nominations for the 2027 Class of Fellows are due April 15.

Final Call for Standards Developers Award
Each year, ASABE recognizes the significant efforts of those teams that devoted time and energy to the revision and development of ASABE Standards during the previous calendar year.
To be considered for this award, nominations must be submitted by the chair of the committee responsible for the standard by March 1, 2026.

ITSC Paper Awards – Deadline April 20
The Information Technology, Sensors & Control Systems (ITSC) technical community is pleased to announce the ITSC Meeting Paper Award for the 2026 ASABE Annual International Meeting. To be considered for the award, by April 20, papers must:
- Be submitted to ASABE via the standard conference paper submission process detailed at asabeaim.org
- Be associated with an abstract that has been approved for presentation (any format) during an ITSC-sponsored or -cosponsored session at that year's AIM
- Use the most current annual meeting paper template
Successful submission is ultimately the responsibility of the contact author. For questions, email AIMpapers@asabe.org.

Scholarships, Nye Fellowship
The Nye Graduate Fellowship, Adams Scholarship, and Foundation Engineering Scholarship are presented annually and are valued at $2000 each. Entry deadline for these is March 15. Applicants must be ASABE student members.
