Agriculture spends billions of dollars on technology that does not match the needs, capabilities, values, and limitations of the people for whom it was created. Contextual Engineering tries to address this by having users be an integral part of the development process, with the goal of addressing the world's greatest needs. Dr. Witmer is a teaching associate associate professor in the Carle Illinois College of Medicine and Ag and Bio Department at the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana.
