JULY 2025

Special Edition

#ASABE25

Can we just call it the ASABE family reunion?

Because that's what it always feels like. We come together each year to tell our stories, technical and personal in roughly equal measure. We share our challenges and celebrate achievements. We reconnect and take inspiration from each other. And we head home with more than an archived meeting program can ever capture.

That's what #ASABE25 was all about.

We're thankful to all who were able to join us in Toronto, especially our Canadian members with whom we hosted the meeting. Scroll below to enjoy some photos from this memorable event.

Sherry Hunt, recently installed ASABE president, and Cedric Calhoun, new ASABE executive director, welcomed Julie Borlaug, center, as keynote speaker for the 2025 annual meeting.

Did you meet Cedric? He was a first-timer!

Fountain Wars competition requires physical preparation, and the North Carolina State team takes that seriously, making time for a few warm-up exercises.

Interest in ASABE's Circular Bioeconomy Systems Institute continues to grow, and well-attended technical sessions, along with a booth on the show floor, offered opportunity for meaningful engagement.

The University of Guelph 1/4-scale tractor made a special appearance at #ASABE25.

In her speech to AIM attendees, incoming President Sherry Hunt offered reflections on the people and experiences that led her to a career as a "dam engineer!" and to involvement with ASABE.

With exciting leadership changes and Society initiatives afoot, four past presidents took advantage of the open-meetings policy to sit in on one of the Board meetings. From left: Terry Howell, Jr (2014-2015), Steve Searcy (2017–2018), Mary Leigh Wolfe (2015–2016), and Paul Heinemann (2021–2022).

Our International Student Branch officers will be planning activities for the coming year. Newly elected to their positions, from left: Adrian Schouten, Purdue University, second vice president; Sarah Lake, University of Guelph, first vice president; Alex Belles, Cal Poly, secretary; Ashley Butkus, University of Wisconsin–Madison; and Abbie Davidson, University of Kentucky, parliamentarian.

Student design contests bring out the best in our young members. Here, Sophia Perry presents on behalf of her Ohio State team, which took top honors in the AGCO Design Competition.

The awards luncheon marks the close of the annual meeting and offers a chance for attendees to squeeze in a little extra social time over a great meal. (And check out those flourless-chocolate-cake kisses cloaked in ASABE blue!)

Our elected leadership devote counteless hours to their work on behalf of the Society. This year we thank our outgoing board members (from left) Oladiran Fasina, Travis Tsunemori, Dana Porter, and Bethany Bertsch for their service.

Three individuals help lead the Board of Trustees. Stepping into rotation at the end of the Toronto meeting were President-Elect Travis Tsunemori, President Sherry Hunt, and Past President Doug Otto.

We hope those smiles remain when we see them (and you!) next year in Indianapolis for #ASABE26!
