The 2023 ASABE Annual International Meeting is less than a month away, and it’s time to start planning for your trip!
Whether it’s your first or fifteenth AIM, there are only so many days at the event, and you want to make sure your time at the meeting is efficient and well-spent.
Local-host committee member Deepak Keshwani, an associate professor of biological systems engineering at the University of Nebraska, offers the following tips and tricks for navigating the many events and activities AIM has to offer:
- Take the time to read through the technical program and identify specific sessions and presentations you want to attend.
- Leverage the meeting app to organize your day so you don’t miss anything.
- Don’t schedule every minute—leave some time open for hallway conversations and reconnecting with old and new friends for lunch, dinner, or drinks.
- Dedicate time for the poster sessions. They are a great opportunity to engage in in-depth discussions that aren’t possible at technical sessions.
We fully support Deepak's recommendations, especially the one about leaving time in your schedule for socializing. Many ASABE members have found that it's those unscheduled, informal exchanges that provide lasting value. They create and solidify professional and personal relationships that are not only helpful along one's career but also result in personal fulfillment.
We’re excited to see you in just a few weeks!
