Paul T. Corcoran, Deepak Keshwani, and John F. Reid have received ASABE Gold Medal awards, among the Society's highest honors. The awards were presented at a luncheon during the 2026 ASABE Annual International Meeting in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Paul T. Corcoran—John Deere Gold Medal
Paul T. Corcoran receives the 2026 John Deere Gold Medal for concepts that led to the first commercially successful rubber track tractor. Over a nearly 40-year career at Caterpillar Inc., he advanced from project engineer to engineering manager of the Earth Mechanics Research Program and Laboratory, retiring in 2007. In that role, he directed the design, development, and testing of machinery components across the full range of machine-ground interfaces—including dozer and motor grader blades, tracks and tires, compactor wheels for soil, waste, and asphalt, soil tillage and rock ripping systems, and excavator and loader buckets and their ground-engaging tools. The John Deere Gold Medal recognizes distinguished achievement in applying science and engineering to the soil, honoring advances in the manipulation, use, and conservation of soil and water resources through new concepts, products, or applications that further agricultural development. The award is sponsored by the John Deere Foundation, Deere & Company, Moline, Illinois.
Deepak Keshwani—Massey-Ferguson Educational Gold Medal
Keshwani receives the 2026 Massey-Ferguson Educational Gold Medal for sustained teaching excellence and his commitment to the personal and professional development of engineering and technology professionals. As associate dean and professor of biological engineering at Utah State University, he provides strategic leadership for undergraduate programs across the College of Engineering, overseeing program creation, review, and continuous improvement for the Logan campus and statewide locations. Established in 1965, the Massey-Ferguson Gold Medal honors dedication to teaching and learning in agricultural engineering that has advanced the field with distinction and inspired others. It is named for Daniel Massey, pioneering agricultural machinery manufacturer, and Harry Ferguson, inventor and champion of agricultural mechanization.
John F. Reid—Cyrus Hall McCormick–Jerome Increase Case Gold Medal
Reid, an ASABE Fellow, receives the 2026 McCormick-Case Gold Medal for establishing computer vision guidance and autonomous systems as foundational technologies that moved agricultural mechanization from research into worldwide practice. He is executive director of the Center for Digital Agriculture and a research professor at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where he leads interdisciplinary programs advancing digital technologies in agriculture — including AI-enabled decision support, agricultural robotics, and farm production system integration. Presented annually from 1932 to 1985 as the Cyrus Hall McCormick Medal, the award was renamed in 1986 to reflect its current sponsor, CNH Industrial. It recognizes exceptional engineering achievement in agriculture that has produced new concepts, products, processes, or methods advancing the field.
