The American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers (ASABE) recently inducted eight individuals as Fellows of the Society.
The grade of Fellow is the highest honor bestowed by the Society and recognizes members whose careers have been marked by extraordinary accomplishments and contributions to the field of agricultural, food, or biological systems engineering. In addition to meritorious achievement, individuals must have a minimum of 20 years of engineering practice or teaching and 20 years as a member in ASABE.
This year's induction ceremony took place at ASABE's 2026 Annual International Meeting, held in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Danielle Julie Carrier, professor of biosystems engineering and soil science, University of Tennessee, was honored for her service to educate and develop technology for the further development of a biobased society. Carrier supports the missions of teaching, research, and extension. Whenever possible, she seeks opportunities to position biosystems engineering, construction science, and soil science disciplines such that they can be leveraged, resulting in augmented strengths.
Scott C. Cedarquist, director of standards and technical, ASABE, was honored for exceptional service and leadership advancing the ASABE standards program, and fostering strong relationships with diverse industry partners. Cedarquist provides strategic, operational, and technical leadership for ASABE’s standards development program. In this role, he oversees the full lifecycle of standards creation, revision, publication, and maintenance, ensuring processes are transparent, consensus based, and aligned with the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) or other relevant accreditation requirements.
Dwayne R. Edwards, PE, professor and department head, Virginia Tech, was honored for outstanding contributions to biological and agricultural engineering through innovative research, leadership, and mentorship, advancing the field and its impact. Edwards is professor and head of the Department of Biological Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. He is responsible for leadership and management of an academic unit of an R1 land grant institution.
Sanjay Shukla, professor of water resources in the Agricultural and Biological Engineering Department at the University of Florida was honored for outstanding contributions to the understanding of water and nutrient fluxes in agriculture and to designing engineering solutions for large-scale changes in economic and environmental sustainability of agriculture.
Travis Tsunemori, product compliance manager at Kubota North America, was honored for outstanding leadership and service to ASABE, to the agricultural equipment industry, and to the agricultural and biological engineering profession. As the compliance manager, Tsunemori oversees product compliance for all Kubota products in North America, including agricultural tractors, construction equipment, lawn mowers, and utility vehicles.
Lingjuan Wang-Li, William Neal Reynolds Distinguished Professor, North Carolina State University, is being honored for her distinguished leadership and steadfast commitment to research and education within the biological and agricultural engineering profession. She specializes in air quality and food-animal production systems engineering. Much of her research work addresses emissions, fate and transport of air emissions.
Gregory D. Williams, PE, president and founder of Facility Engineering Services (FS Group LLC), was honored for his distinguished career in engineering services for agricultural and food processing facilities and in service to the profession. Williams leads a specialized engineering firm that provides design solutions for bioprocess and food processing facilities subject to rigorous USDA and FDA inspections. He holds professional licensure in 37 states, a testament to his extensive reach in managing complex projects involving process layout & design, life safety analysis, bulk storage and material handling, structural and building envelope design of complex facilities and specialty structures.
Qiang Zhang, PE, professor emeritus at the University of Manitoba, was honored for exceptional professional distinction in the field of animal production environments. Zhang leads high-level research initiatives and provides mentorship to the next generation of engineers through the supervision of graduate students. He remains an active researcher in the field of animal production environments, established internationally for his work in grain storage and livestock odor management.
