CBSI Education Resources: Needs and Opportunities
Implementing the vision of a circular bioeconomy requires new practices and upgraded skills and knowledge of current and future practitioners beyond typical professional development. This webinar will outline the skills identified as necessary for CBS implementation and describe some of the pathways to attain those skills. Much of the webinar will be devoted to an open discussion to refine the list of skills and knowledge, identify current and planned opportunities, and brainstorm additional ways the organization can foster lifelong learning in this area.
Material presented by John Classen. Dr. Classen has served on the faculty in Biological and Agricultural Engineering at NC State for over 30 years. He has held various leadership positions at NC State and in ASABE, mostly related to graduate education. His extensive technical work in environmental aspects of food animal production and manure management revealed a need for a broad vision of the circular bioeconomy and the collaborative interdisciplinary skills needed to achieve that vision. He is now focused on developing and sharing educational resources that will empower future leaders to work in our interconnected world.
