Photo of Sherry Hunt, ASABE presidentIn her current columm in ResourceASABE President Sherry Hunt encourages members to actively share their stories to raise awareness of the profession, inspire young people considering meaningful careers, and advance ASABE's prominence as a leading source of expertise.

Hunt names two very practical ways in which to "Embrace Your Story." First, participate in ASABE Foundation initiatives—like the "Engineering Our Future" campaign currently underway. Second, mentor future engineers through programs like the Future City Competition, whose "From Farm to Table" theme aligns perfectly with the field.

"Don’t keep your story to yourself," says Hunt. "Shout it from the rooftop! Educate the public about the vital work you do, and explain why it matters."
