ASABE is pleased to announce this year's four winners of the ASABE–CNH Industrial Undergraduate Scholarship. Each will receive a scholarship worth $2500 to use toward their degrees in agricultural and biological engineering and related fields.
The winners are:
William Faulkner, University of Kentucky
Laura Landis, Texas A&M University
Samuel Meyer, South Dakota State University
Charles Sebright, Purdue University
Among the criteria on which applicants were judged were their responses to questions about CNH Industrial, ASABE, and the benefit of membership in a professional organization.
This year’s scholarship winners zeroed in on the ASABE network as a key benefit. Laura Landis is a repeat scholarship winner, having won last year. She recalled a particular networking experience at an ASABE Foundation dinner, where she was seated with several practicing engineers. “I got to be a sponge and learn as much as I possibly could over a few delicious courses. Everyone I spoke to was so warm and kind,” says Landis. Sam Meyer pointed to a similar positive experience with ASABE’s International ¼-Scale Tractor Student Design Competition. The competition, he says, “not only allows networking opportunities for industry professionals and students but also allows students to gain real-world, hands-on experience in the design and manufacturing of a product.”
Winners applauded CNH as a leader in innovation and sustainability. “With its commitments to sustainability, innovation, and safety,” wrote Charles Sebright, “it enables some of the hardest workers to keep the world moving forward one mouth at a time.” Adds William Faulker, “Every year CNH Industrial finds ways to make the world’s leading agriculture equipment and technology one step better.”
"We are grateful to CNH Industrial for their partnership and support,” says ASABE Executive Director Darrin Drollinger. “Their role in talent development is invaluable as we work toward our shared vision of a world where all enjoy the food, safe environment, and other necessities to thrive.”
The scholarships were made possible by the generous support of CNH Industrial, a world-class equipment and services company that sustainably advances the noble work of agricultural and construction workers.
ASABE is an international educational organization dedicated to the advancement of engineering applicable to agricultural, food, and biological systems.
