Seeking Candidates for the 2027 Election

The Nominating committee is seeking passionate individuals to serve the Society on the Board of Trustees as President-Elect or as trustee. Open for service are member positions for the Nominating committee. Are you looking for an opportunity to make an impact, to shape the future of the Society, and to play a pivotal role in governance?  For consideration, submit your application by June 15 .

ASABE Board of Trustees

Six trustee candidates are needed. Three of the candidates will be elected to serve three-year terms, beginning at the close of the 2027 AIM.

Nominating Committee

Sixteen committee member candidates are needed. Eight of the candidates will be elected to serve two-year terms. Two candidates will each represent the following technical communities and districts. 

  • Applied Science & Engineering
  • Energy Systems
  • Information Technology, Sensors, & Control Systems
  • Machinery Systems
  • Natural Resources & Environmental Systems
  • PRS Processing Systems
  • District 2
  • District 4

Spring

  • self-application process opened through June 15

Summer

  • Nominating committee determines slate of candidates
    • President-Elect
    • Trustee candidates (6)
    • Nominating committee member candidates (14-16)

Fall

  • your nomination confirmation is submitted to HQ
  • bio construction process begins

Winter

  • Leadership Election conducted
  • results published

Spring

  • Board of Trustees onboarding

Summer

  • terms officially begin at the conclusion of the annual meeting
  • in-coming Nominating committee members will start their duties at the conclusion of the upcoming Leadership Election, held January-March 1

  • Deep commitment to ASABE's mission, vision, and future
  • Engrossed in delving into issues facing the Society and the profession
  • Desire to grow as a leader through service
  • Collaborative and collegial approach to teamwork
  • Ability to participate in strategic discussions and decisions
  • Understanding of board roles and governance responsibilities
  • Openess to expanding prfessional networks
  • Availability for preparation, meetings, and full term service
  • Readiness to serve as an ambassador for ASABE
  • Willingness to support financial sustainability and fundraising efforts

If you can respond Yes to most of these statements, then consider applying for a governance position. If you responded No to two or more, then you may want to consider other ways to get involved with ASABE at this time, including:

  • Volunteering
  • Serving on advisory groups or committees
